Life Engagement Assistant (Activities / Recreation)
About The Position
The Life Engagement Assistant works in an assisted living neighborhood and assists the Life Engagement Coordinator with planning and implementing programs and events that provide residents with the Acts Signature Experience (ASE). Programs incorporate wellness, person-centered living, and hospitality, and address body, mind, and spirit to support quality of life. The role helps ensure residents with differing cognitive and functional levels have opportunities for meaningful engagement consistent with the Acts engagement philosophy. Programs are informed by Montessori principles of resident empowerment and engagement and are based on residents’ personal histories and preferences as expressed in My Story.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of activities or recreation experience.
- Dementia engagement certification, or willingness to obtain it within one year of employment.
- Current CPR certification or eligibility for certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Life Engagement Coordinator in planning and implementing programs and events.
- Support programs that incorporate wellness, person-centered living, hospitality, and the body, mind, and spirit components of life balance.
- Ensure residents of differing cognitive and functional levels have opportunities for meaningful engagement consistent with the Acts engagement philosophy.
- Support programs informed by Montessori principles and residents’ personal histories and preferences as expressed in My Story.
