The Lieutenant Supervisor - Police Officer role is a full-time position with night shifts (11:00 pm - 6:00 am) at Arnett Hospital, supporting the Public Safety Department. This role provides direction and guidance to team members, guests, and patients, while also counseling, coaching, and evaluating subordinate personnel. The position involves assisting teams with de-escalating tense situations, preventing crime and safety incidents, and creating a safe healthcare environment. The Lieutenant Supervisor serves as the shift commander, supervising sergeants, police officers, and Public Safety Officers, issuing work assignments, and supervising work activities. They are responsible for completing and approving work schedules to ensure proper shift coverage. The role includes conducting patrols, responding to calls for service, investigating criminal activity and vehicle crashes, and enforcing IU Health rules, regulations, policies, and state statutes. Maintaining records, completing reports, and performing physical security screenings are also key duties. The Lieutenant Supervisor will assist other public safety agencies, respond to officers' calls for assistance, assume on-scene command of critical incidents, and act as the senior departmental officer in the absence of more senior ranking officers. Other duties may be assigned by the chain of command.
