The City of Lake Alfred is seeking a proven, hands-on law enforcement leader to serve as their next Police Lieutenant – Patrol Division. Requirements

Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Police Administration, or related field
Minimum 5 years of law enforcement experience
At least 1 year of experience at the rank of Sergeant
Experience in training and valid instructor certification
Ability to work varied shifts, including extended hours when needed
Florida Law Enforcement Certification (FDLE)
Mid-Management and/or First-Line Supervision certification
Valid Florida Driver’s License

Responsibilities

Supervise, schedule, and deploy patrol personnel based on operational needs and priorities
Lead, coach, and evaluate officers and sergeants to maintain high performance and accountability
Ensure readiness for emergency response, disaster situations, and critical incidents
Review reports, monitor activity, and ensure accuracy, professionalism, and compliance
Address personnel issues, including coaching, discipline, and conflict resolution
Support recruitment, hiring, and training of new officers
Coordinate and deliver in-service training programs
Maintain strong communication with command staff regarding incidents, trends, and operations
Engage with the community and respond to citizen concerns professionally and effectively
Step into operational roles and assist with calls for service when needed
