About The Position

The Board of Pharmacy regulates the Practice of Pharmacy and enforces laws regarding pharmacy staff, drug outlets and the sale of drugs in Oregon. The Board was created in 1891. By licensing pharmacists, pharmacy interns and pharmacy technicians, the Board of Pharmacy ensures that only qualified people practice pharmacy in Oregon. The Board registers and inspects retail and hospital pharmacies and stores that sell over-the-counter drugs. It also registers and inspects drug wholesalers and manufacturers and regulates the quality and distribution of all drugs in Oregon.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in customer service.
  • One year of which must have included explanation of rules, regulations, and policies and responsibility for dealing with unique or unusual situations.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Change agile, self-starter, quick learner.
  • Experience using a multi-line telephone answering a high volume of calls.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office365 suite, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
  • Payment processing & reconciliation experience.
  • Demonstrated experience entering data into a database or customer record management system.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Must obtain and maintain CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) clearance.
  • Must obtain and maintain Oregon LEDS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Regular contact with customers, in-person and by phone, some of whom may be upset or angry.
  • Answer questions relating to over 30 different license categories.
  • Assist customers through online processes.
  • Communicate information to customers accurately, consciously and concisely.
  • Greet the public and all visitors to the agency.
  • Act as first-level phone contact for incoming calls to the agency.
  • Process incoming mail.
  • Issue and renew licenses.
  • Enter data into the licensing database.
  • Review applications for applicability, completeness and eligibility for licensure.
  • Process accounts receivable.
  • Run background checks through LEDS (the Law Enforcement Data System).
  • Perform continuing education audits.
  • Scan and maintain electronic licensing files.
