About The Position

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Licensing Manager to join their Licensing team in Towson, MD. This hybrid role involves managing and executing the Power Tools Licensing Business with both new and existing partners. The position requires assisting in the development of 3-year strategic plans, managing licensed product development projects with cross-functional teams, and reviewing/approving assets for packaging and merchandising. The role also involves quarterbacking approvals for concept, ID, and engineering steps, updating onboarding decks, and leading onboarding sessions. Additionally, the Licensing Manager will collect key assets and information from licensees, manage intake forms for marketing initiatives, assist in developing brand strategy for licensees, and perform retail store walks to assess competitive brands and market landscapes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related discipline required.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in licensing, brand management, product management, category management, commercialization, or partnerships.
  • Experience managing external partners, licensees, vendors, or strategic brand relationships.
  • Experience supporting quarterly business reviews, annual planning, or partner performance reviews.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in tools, hardware, construction, industrial, PPE, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, MRO, or building products is preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to new product development / stage-gate processes highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute Stanley Black & Decker’s Power Tools Licensing Business, with both new and existing partners.
  • Assist in the development of 3-year strategic plans with licensing partners to include product roadmaps and product development.
  • Manage licensed product development projects with cross-functional teams including ID, engineering, legal, and commercialization teams.
  • Review, coordinate and approve assets for packaging and merchandising in the licensing portal.
  • Quarterback and coordinate approvals for concept, ID and engineering steps in the portal.
  • Update on-boarding decks for new licensing partners and lead the onboarding sessions in collaboration with teams (licensing agency, ID, brand, engineering, finance).
  • Collect key assets and information from licensed partners on new products, marketing initiatives, and critical business updates for internal meetings and report outs.
  • Manage intake forms for social influencer requests, website uploads, trade show samples, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in developing brand strategy for key licensees that is consistent with the core brand content. This will include: Developing website content (product pages, landing pages, ideas + inspiration content), scheduling email marketing and social media posts and working with the licensees and brand team to create content, working with internal teams to connect licensing programs with social influencers, sponsorships and tv ad campaigns.
  • Perform regular retail store walks to develop awareness of competitive brands in market, shelf presence, and competitive landscapes. Document findings and develop a point of view on business impact.
