About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a remote Licensing Engineer Energy based out of its Oak Ridge, Tennessee office. The fuel cycle business supports clients in designing, licensing, constructing, and operating facilities regulated under 10 CFR Part 70, including conversion, deconversion, and fuel fabrication facilities that handle special nuclear material. This work is expanding as the domestic fuel supply chain grows to support advanced reactor deployment. The engineer prepares assigned sections of 10 CFR Part 70 license applications and supporting licensing evaluations under the direction of senior licensing staff. Work may cover radiation protection, waste management, emergency preparedness, decommissioning, environmental protection, and management measures. The role gathers and coordinates design, process, and operational inputs from clients, engineering disciplines, and other contractors; documents assumptions when inputs are still developing; and progresses toward independent ownership of application content. The position also reviews interfacing application content for consistency and completeness, identifies and records licensing commitments, maintains traceability to NRC requirements and guidance, and supports responses to NRC requests for additional information. The engineer prepares licensing presentations and supporting materials, works to assigned schedules, and promptly raises delivery risks and unresolved issues. Senior licensing staff provide instruction, guidance, and direction.
