About The Position

The Louisiana Board of Pharmacy's mission is to regulate the profession and practice of pharmacy to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Louisiana citizens. This involves ensuring that only qualified individuals are licensed and that existing licensees comply with all laws and rules governing pharmacy practice. The Licensing Analyst role is crucial in this mission, as these individuals ensure that applicants meet the minimum qualifications for licensure and assist current credential holders with renewal, reinstatement, and maintenance of their credentials. Key competencies for success in this role include accepting direction, communicating effectively, following policies and procedures, adapting to change, and making accurate judgments.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses
  • Six years of full-time work experience in any field
  • A bachelor's degree
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Answering questions about minimum qualifications for credentials and the application process by telephone and email
  • Reviewing applications and supporting documents to determine eligibility for credentials
  • Explaining deficiencies with applications
  • Explaining laws and regulations to credential holders and applicants
  • Processing applications for the renewal of credentials
  • Updating records (name, address, email, etc.)
