About The Position

Provide one-on-one skilled care to children of all ages who have developmental disabilities. The role also provides respite care for families of a child or adult with developmental disabilities and supports clients and their family members. Care may include feeding and care through a gastronomy tube (G-tube), vital signs, medication administration, tracheostomy care (rarely), blood sugar checks and insulin injections, and seizure management. Document each visit in nursing notes and monitor and report changes in client care or behavior. The position pays $35.00 per hour. Requirements

Active California LVN license.
CPR certification.
Physical examination completed within the last six months.
Current TB test.
Valid CPR card and First Aid certification, with these documents required within 30 days of hire.
At least one year of experience.
Clear criminal background.

Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one respite care for families of a child or adult with developmental disabilities.
Provide G-tube care and feeding.
Take vital signs and administer medication.
Provide tracheostomy care, which is rarely needed.
Check blood sugar and administer insulin injections.
Manage seizures, including giving medication if ordered and ensuring client safety.
Document each visit in nursing notes.
Support clients and their family members.
Monitor and report changes in client care or behavior.
