About The Position

Provide one-on-one skilled care to children of all ages who have developmental disabilities. The role also provides respite care to families of a child or adult with developmental disabilities and supports clients and their family members. Care may include feeding and care through a gastronomy tube (G-tube), vital signs, medication administration, tracheostomy care, blood sugar checks and insulin injections, and seizure management. Nurses document each visit and monitor and report changes in client care or behavior. Requirements

Active California LVN license.
CPR certification.
Physical examination completed within the last six months.
Current TB test.
Valid CPR card and First Aid certification, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Clear criminal background.
At least one year of experience.

Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one respite care for families of a child or adult with developmental disabilities.
Provide gastronomy tube (G-tube) care and feeding.
Take vital signs and administer medication.
Provide tracheostomy care; experience is not required because this is very rare.
Check blood sugar and administer insulin injections.
Manage seizures, including administering medication if ordered and ensuring client safety.
Document each visit in nursing notes.
Support clients and their family members.
Monitor and report changes in client care or behavior.
