About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician provides direct and indirect patient care services requiring technical and manual skills within the scope of practice. The role addresses patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs, and supports communication needs of patients and families. The LVN works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. In the ER setting, the role requires knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the triage process.
Requirements
- Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain it.
- IV certification upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- Blood Withdrawal (BW) certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care within the scope of practice.
- Address patients’ psychosocial, physical, and general care needs.
- Meet the communication needs of patients and their families.
- Perform duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrate knowledge of EMTALA regulations and the triage process in the ER setting.
