Licensed Vocational Nurse Orthopedics Sports Medicine
About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse provides clinical care and ongoing patient assessments to safeguard well-being throughout treatment. The role includes safely administering prescribed medications and monitoring patient responses, performing laboratory tests and therapies to support diagnosis and treatment, and guiding patients and families through discharge instructions, self-care routines, and community resources to support recovery. The position is based at Providence Ortho & Sports in Waco, Texas, in the Providence Orthopedics Sports Medicine department, with a full-time Monday–Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
- Licensed Clinical Practical/Vocational Nurse credential from the Texas Board of Nursing before hire or job transfer; alternatively, a GVN permit from an accredited practical or vocational nursing program before start or transfer, a temporary or current Texas LPN/LVN license before hire or transfer, or a current home-state license qualifying for multistate recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- High school diploma equivalency or one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience. Required professional licensure or certification may be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
