Licensed Vocational Nurse (Overnights)
About The Position
Clearfork Academy provides high-quality substance abuse and mental health treatment for adolescents and young adults. We are seeking a confident, adaptable, and solutions-focused Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing patient care, clinical responsibilities, and real-time problem-solving. The position involves working overnight shifts.
Requirements
- Current and unrestricted Texas LVN license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a changing environment
- Knowledge of medication administration, patient monitoring, and nursing standards of care
- Strong critical-thinking and communication skills
- Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and patient confidentiality
Nice To Haves
- Minimum one year of nursing experience preferred
- Behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, or psychiatric nursing experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments and monitor patient health status
- Administer medications and maintain accurate medication records
- Complete and document vital signs, withdrawal assessments, safety assessments, and nursing evaluations
- Monitor patient progress and communicate concerns to physicians and treatment teams
- Respond to changing patient needs and clinical situations
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, counselors, and behavioral health staff to provide quality patient care
- Conduct patient rounds and support facility safety procedures
- Provide patient and family education related to treatment and recovery
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with admissions, orientations, and other clinical support functions
