About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) delivers care to patients utilizing the LVN Process. This role involves triaging patient calls, communicating with providers, and utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care for selected patient populations and their families. The LVN performs specific nursing care related to cardiology, collects patient data such as vital signs, monitors patient responses, administers prescribed medications, and documents treatment progress. The position also involves preparing patient records and performing other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • Accredited School of Practical Nursing Program
  • Knowledge of basic nursing processes and understanding of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies
  • Knowledge of state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and composure
  • Ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
  • Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards staff and patients
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
  • Efficient time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Collects patient data such as vital signs, notes how the patient looks and acts or responds to stimuli and reports this information accordingly.
  • Prepares patient records and files using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
  • Administers certain prescribed medications and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
