About The Position

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in a general practice setting.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfort with computers and online tools.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Strong communication skills with clients.
• A thoughtful, fearless team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about pets.

Responsibilities

• Recognize medical emergencies and illnesses and triage patients.
• Assess patients, record vital signs, and assist doctors with diagnostics.
• Complete treatments as instructed by the doctor.
• Provide basic husbandry and nursing care, monitor patients for changes, and provide compassionate care.
• Take blood and place catheters.
• Assist with and facilitate radiography capture.
• Prepare samples for outside reference laboratories and run in-house laboratory tests.
• Prepare and administer medications.
• Help maintain a hospitable environment.
