About The Position
Ark Veterinary Hospital and Urgent Care is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinarians with examinations, surgery, anesthesia, recovery, and other technical procedures, while maintaining accurate records and a clean, well-stocked treatment environment. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and some closing shifts. An alternative schedule of three long shifts and one short shift may be available to complete 40 hours and allow three days off each week. The listed salary is $23.00–$30.00 per hour, based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications, and the role includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Hold a Licensed Veterinary Technician credential in New York State.
- Be able to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Know common disease states and alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Be familiar with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
- Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
- Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
- Perform technical duties, including laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
- Keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
- Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
