About The Position

Broadway Veterinary Clinic is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, along with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.

The position works four 10-hour shifts. The hospital is currently open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and one Saturday morning a month. Salary is $24–$26 per hour, determined by the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

Broadway Veterinary Clinic has served the Bangor, Maine area since 1980. Its current facility was built in 2002 and is designed to provide advanced technology and comfort for clients. The clinic has four veterinarians and more than twenty staff members and is dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture and serving a diverse community.

Requirements

• Maine Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification is required.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
