About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join their team. They are looking for individuals who are passionate about pets and want to revolutionize the pet industry. This role encourages technicians to work at the top of their license and serve as clinical leaders, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset. The practice is a well-established, full-service general practice hospital with a legacy of excellence and loyal clientele, featuring a state-of-the-art facility, two dedicated DVMs, and an experienced support team committed to the highest standards of care. They are dedicated to staying current with the latest advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness, providing top-of-the-line medical, surgical, and dental equipment, as well as an in-house laboratory and ultrasonography.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid New York state Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) license.
  • Proficiency in surgery and dentistry.

Responsibilities

  • Work to the top of your license and serve as a clinical leader.
  • Ensure medical excellence with a patient-first mindset.
  • Utilize skills in Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
  • Utilize skills in Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
  • Utilize skills in Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
  • Utilize skills in Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
  • Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.
  • Participate in a predictable weekend rotation.
