About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for Story Road Animal Hospital in Irving, TX. This role is designed for technicians who want to practice at the top of their license, with transparent pay, structured growth, and a focus on well-being. The LVT will serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset, following AAHA utilization guidance.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Texas Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) state license.
• Proficiency in anesthesia and analgesia, including IV catheterization, pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
• Experience with full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy.
• Skills in diagnostic imaging (radiography/positioning) and in-house lab analysis.
• Ability to perform critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and manage catheters/feeding tubes.
• Willingness to lead tech appointments, team huddles, and mentor assistants/externs.

Responsibilities

• Anesthesia & Analgesia: Full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
• Dentistry: Full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
• Diagnostics: High-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
• Nursing & Triage: Critical patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
• Workflow Leadership: Leading tech appointments, team huddles, and mentoring assistants/externs.
