About The Position

Farmington Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The role supports veterinarians in clinical procedures and patient care, while communicating with clients and helping maintain a safe, clean, well-stocked hospital. The schedule offers flexible scheduling with four 10-hour shifts per week. Shifts may start as early as 7:30 AM and end as late as 8:00 PM, and rotating Saturdays are required. Requirements

New York Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification is required.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures is described as ideal.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
