Dutchess County Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join their team in Poughkeepsie, NY. This position requires Saturday availability and offers compensation between $24.00 and $27.00 per hour, based on experience. Requirements

  • Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in New York
  • Strong clinical and technical skills including anesthesia monitoring and patient care
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for patient care and continuous learning
  • Saturdays are required

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vital signs during procedures
  • Provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and treatments
  • Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and support fluid therapy
  • Operate diagnostic equipment including digital radiography and in-house lab analyzers
  • Support dental procedures including anesthesia monitoring and dental radiography
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
