Dutchess County Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join their team in Poughkeepsie, NY. This position requires Saturday availability and offers compensation between $24.00 and $27.00 per hour, based on experience. Requirements
- Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in New York
- Strong clinical and technical skills including anesthesia monitoring and patient care
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for patient care and continuous learning
- Saturdays are required
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with patient exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery and monitor anesthesia and vital signs during procedures
- Provide attentive nursing care for hospitalized patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and treatments
- Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and support fluid therapy
- Operate diagnostic equipment including digital radiography and in-house lab analyzers
- Support dental procedures including anesthesia monitoring and dental radiography
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners
