About The Position

Cat Care Clinic is a feline-exclusive clinic seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Licensed Veterinary Technician to join their team. This is a hands-on position where you will directly support the doctor in a tranquil clinic environment. The clinic provides exams, laboratory testing, radiology, surgery, and boarding, and is open Monday through Saturday, with boarding available year-round. The team prides itself on client relationships and the expertise of its doctors. This role offers an opportunity to step into a leadership role and contribute to educational programs and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of WA, or eligible to transfer/obtain license within 3 months of hire
  • Minimum 2 years experience working as a credentialed veterinary technician required
  • Comfortable with "spicy" kitties and able to remain calm with fractious cats
  • Is respectful of all team members

Nice To Haves

  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred, but not required
  • Keen interest in education, embracing new technology, and enhancing operational techniques

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in the examination and treatment of cats
  • Maintain medical records and prepare reports for veterinarians
  • Provide surgical support and monitor anesthesia on feline patients, including high-risk, medically complex felines
  • Perform dental radiographs and dental prophylaxis
  • Perform advanced, safe handling and positioning for digital radiographs
  • Perform ultrasound guided cystocentesis
  • Utilize and maintain in-house laboratory equipment (Idexx/VetScan)
  • Utilize veterinary medical record management software
  • Provide outstanding customer service and time management skills
  • Communicate clearly with clients, doctors, and all staff members
  • Collaborate with the practice manager to develop and execute educational programs for team members, focusing on enhancing clinical skills, client communication, and patient care.
  • Assist the practice manager in implementing new operational techniques and protocols to streamline workflow and optimize practice performance.
  • Provide hands-on training and support to team members during the adoption of new technologies and operational procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to veterinary medicine and practice management.
