About The Position

Animal Care Center of Pahrump is seeking experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) to join their growing team. They are expanding their doctor days and need an LVT proficient in their highest level of training and license. The position offers full-time or part-time shifts. The salary ranges from $28.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location. Full-time schedules involve four to five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week, primarily weekdays with rotating weekend support. Part-time offers flexible scheduling, including weekend coverage. The clinic is located at 6981 NV-160, Pahrump, NV 89060. Additional benefits include a continuing education allowance (up to $1000 annually) and license reimbursement.

Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire.
  • 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant.
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment.
  • Passion for working with animals and their owners.
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint.
  • Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare.
  • Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Dental Experience, including charting, scaling, polishing, dental radiology.
  • Skilled in IV Catheter placement, venipuncture, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints.
  • Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique, pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Laboratory skills including in-house lab equipment, ear and skin cytology set-up and interpretation.
  • Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law.
  • Obtain accurate histories, vitals, and perform brief exams in the exam room.
  • Conduct client education and financial conversations.
  • Perform dental procedures including charting, scaling, polishing, and dental radiology.
  • Place IV catheters, perform venipuncture, and urinary catheter placement.
  • Apply casts, bandages, and splints.
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgical procedures, including intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique, and pre-operative/post-operative care.
  • Utilize in-house lab equipment for diagnostics, including ear and skin cytology setup and interpretation.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis.
