Licensed Veterinary Technician

About The Position
This role focuses on providing high-level client experience and customer service, ensuring the highest quality of care for patients. The technician will assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, including preparing patients for surgery, administering and monitoring anesthesia, and managing patients during and after surgery. The position also involves taking technician appointments for services like vaccines and fluids, preparing estimates for procedures, and discussing financial commitments with clients in line with hospital policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working as a veterinary technician (background in emergency/referral or specialty practices is a plus)
- Washington State Veterinary Technician License
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Genuinely enjoys working with animals and able to deal with them when they are stressed, ill or in pain.
- Well-spoken and approaches job duties in a mature and professional manner.
- Experience working in a team environment and collaborates well with all levels of team members.
- Stress management skills in a busy, fast-paced team atmosphere
- Excellent client communication skills.

Responsibilities

- Assists the veterinarian in medical, surgical and dental procedures; prepares patients for surgery
- Administers and monitors anesthesia; manages patients during surgery and recovery
- Takes Tech Appointments (vaccines, fluids, demonstrations etc.)
- Prepares estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients supporting hospital financial policies
