About The Position
Dakota Veterinary Center is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician Manager to lead and develop their technician and veterinary assistant team. This role involves leadership responsibilities such as coaching, mentoring, improving workflow, setting clinical standards, and coordinating daily operations. It also includes hands-on patient care, allowing the manager to continue utilizing their technical skills. Requirements
- Current New York State Veterinary Technician licensure
- Strong hands-on veterinary technician experience
- Leadership, supervisory, training, or mentorship experience
- Confidence with anesthesia monitoring and surgical nursing
- Experience with dentistry and dental radiography
- Strong venipuncture, IV catheter, laboratory, radiology, and patient-care skills
- The ability to coach others while also holding people accountable
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing technicians and veterinary assistants
- Supporting onboarding and hands-on clinical training
- Creating clear expectations and accountability across the team
- Coordinating daily workflow, staffing, and patient care needs
- Helping technicians utilize and grow their clinical skills
- Maintaining strong medical, safety, and patient-care standards
- Improving efficiency and communication between our doctors and support team
- Supporting anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, treatments, and patient care
- Stepping onto the floor and working alongside your team when needed
