About The Position

Perimeter Behavioral of Missouri - Saint Robert is a residential treatment facility providing care to adolescents. Located in Saint Robert, MO, Perimeter Behavioral of Missouri’s goal is to provide a responsive healing environment for patients and to inspire hope and contribute to health and well-being by providing the best care to every patient through integrated clinical practice, education, and compassion. We offer a range of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, and outpatient counseling and therapies. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients as a Therapist at Perimeter Behavioral of Missouri - Saint Robert. In this role, the therapist will be assisting the occupational therapist in providing therapeutic support to adolescents with behavioral challenges and medically complete physical conditions. The therapist will demonstrate a commitment to improving the lives of patients through individualized therapeutic interventions.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited program
  • Current unrestricted licensure
  • Must be a minimum of 21

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Missouri Driver's License is preferred
  • Experience in a mental health setting (preferably with adolescents), and knowledge of child/adolescent growth and development, and the ability to relate to adolescents with substance abuse or mental health problems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the occupational therapist to implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic activities that enhance the functional abilities and overall well-being of adolescents.
  • Provide support and guidance during therapy sessions, encouraging engagement in therapeutic exercises and activities.
  • Monitor and assess patients' responses to treatment, reporting significant changes or concerns to the occupational therapist.
  • Document patient progress and maintain comprehensive, accurate records in accordance with hospital policies and standards.
  • Engage with healthcare team members to ensure a coordinated approach to addressing both behavioral and physical health needs.
  • Participate in family meetings, providing education and support regarding the therapy process and strategies for continued support at home.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for therapy sessions, ensuring equipment and materials are properly set up and maintained.
  • Uphold a professional and compassionate demeanor, fostering a supportive atmosphere for adolescents and their families during treatment.
