About The Position

Springfield Public Schools is accepting applications for Licensed Substitute Teachers for the purpose of establishing an ongoing pool of candidates. We are looking for committed, compassionate and positive educators who are ready to make a difference for Springfield students. Applications are reviewed in the order in which they are received and according to the current needs and requirements of the District. After application review, candidates may receive an email requesting more information, as needed. Therefore, the application process requires that all applicants have an active email address. Qualified candidates will be contacted by SPS Human Resources Department. Springfield Public Schools may consider applicants if the candidate holds an active Oregon Substitute Teaching License issued by TSPC. Candidates in the Substitute Teacher Pool are not guaranteed employment.

Requirements

  • A Valid Oregon teaching license: Preliminary Teaching, Professional Teaching, Reciprocal Teaching, Substitute Teaching, Restricted Substitute Teaching
  • Must have passed criminal background check.
  • Experience differentiating practices for diverse populations
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, parents, school district staff and community populations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work a varied schedule
  • Ability and commitment to practice cultural competency and demonstrate a respect for diversity, equity and inclusion.
