About The Position

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. (PCM) is seeking a Licensed Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW-C) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LGPC or LCPC) to join the medical department at the Washington County Detention Center in Hagerstown, MD. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position providing on-site care. The role involves managing the mental health program in accordance with NCCHC standards and acting as the mental health liaison between the medical unit and facility staff.

Requirements

• Must be licensed as a LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, or LCSW-C in the state of Maryland.
• Must hold a master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or related Human Service field with a concentration in clinical coursework, training and/or experience.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of two years of experience.
• Experience with substance abuse/MAT (medicated assisted treatment) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals, including documentation of findings, mental status examination, case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plan. Make referrals to psychiatry when appropriate.
• Conduct risk assessments using structured interviews and risk assessment tools, managing inmates at risk for suicide and/or self-harm according to existing protocols.
• Serve as the PrimeCare Medical (PCM) mental health liaison for mental health services outside the facility.
• Facilitate admission and placement of inmates/patients to forensic hospitals when necessary.
• Monitor all mental health services provided.
• Ensure clinical services meet NCCHC standards and accepted psychiatric/psychological standards.
• Participate as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Develop and conduct in-service education programs according to the annual in-service calendar.
• Collect data and prepare monthly reports reflecting performance.
