About The Position

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens (CCBQ) is seeking Licensed Social Workers and Licensed Mental Health Counselors for full-time positions in Queens and Brooklyn. CCBQ has been providing quality social services for over 125 years, offering a wide range of programs for various populations. The clinics provide a professional and welcoming environment, offering psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacological therapy, individual, group, and family therapy, crisis intervention, medication management, and case management. The approach emphasizes wellness, recovery, trauma-informed care, and physical-behavioral health integration. The Agency embraces an integrated system of care, requiring staff to assess client needs holistically and connect them with necessary services, both internal and external.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
  • Valid NYS LMSW/LMHC required.
  • Must be very well organized.
  • Have excellent oral & written communications skills.
  • Must be computer literate & knowledgeable of MS Word, Excel, & Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience a plus.
  • MHC-LP and MSW-LP accepted.
  • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
  • $5K Language Differential (applicable based on the need of the clinic & community)

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a designated Clinical Supervisor, the Licensed Social Worker is responsible for direct service to clients in the Agency’s outpatient mental health programs.
  • All services are to be delivered in a professional and ethical manner, consistent with best practice tenets.
  • Function as part of a treatment team, maintain mandated levels of service, participate in Agency meetings as required and fully comply with Agency policies and procedures.
  • Perform initial interview, crisis intervention, and ongoing therapy with individuals, groups, and families.
  • Adhere to all standards of contract compliance, audit readiness, Agency policies and procedures, and all other regulatory requirements.
  • Work as a member of a team to help ensure the overall integrity and welfare of the Agency.
  • Meet Agency requirements for qualitative and quantitative contacts with clients.
  • Conduct intake interviews, render diagnoses in accordance with DSM criteria, provide crisis intervention, provide psychotherapy in various treatment modalities, conduct telephone referrals, provide advocacy, case management and referrals.
  • Ensure that referrals are made to appropriate internal and external services as required to meet the needs of the consumer and their families.
  • Participate in in-service trainings and attend relevant workshops/conferences at the request of or with the permission the Clinical Supervisor and/or Clinical Manager.
