Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field and at least two (2) years of professional experience as a social worker, counselor, or treatment specialist
  • Nevada State license as Social Worker may substitute for prior professional experience
  • Eligibility for participation in the RSIC Vehicle Insurance Program
  • Age 21 or older at the time of hire
  • Office skills, including but not limited to: e-mail, Microsoft Word, EXCEL, fax machine, and telephone
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel is essential for developing and maintaining accurate client records in accordance with BIA file management systems
  • Strong interviewing skills will enable you to assess client eligibility and needs effectively
  • Ability to create and manage individualized service plans is critical for successful outcomes
  • Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with tribal, local, and federal agencies to coordinate services for at-risk children, families, and victims of crime
  • Excellent communication, both written and oral, will enhance your interactions with clients and stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective reporting
  • Possessing a deep understanding of ethical standards and compliance with legal requirements is vital to safeguarding both clients and the organization

Responsibilities

  • Interview prospective clients to determine eligibility and participation guidelines
  • Identify and administer a service plan for each client based on intake assessment
  • Provide individual and/or family services including referral to mental health, educational, financial, employment or counseling programs
  • Coordinate foster care, adoption or adult custodial services based on evaluation and assessment guidelines
  • Collaborate with RSIC services to align treatment plans for "at-risk" children, families and victims of crime
  • Work jointly with tribal, local, state and federal agencies, including the Family Support Team, C.P.T. and M.D.T. entities
  • Seek technical assistance from B.I.A. as needed
  • Develop and maintain accurate and confidential client files, records and documents in accordance with BIA file management systems
  • Review certification of assistance payments administered by federal and tribal programs
  • Attend meetings with clients, tribal departments, BIA representatives and others as directed or deemed necessary
  • Provide monthly and/or quarterly reports as required
