About The Position

Southern Home Services, a residential HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical company, is seeking a Service Plumber for Dunn’s HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical. The role handles residential plumbing service, including troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems. The plumber diagnoses issues, performs repairs and installations, and ensures work meets quality standards and local codes. Success requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, including effective interaction with homeowners. The position involves diagnosing plumbing problems, deciding whether repairs or replacements are needed, installing and assembling plumbing systems and equipment, and servicing water and gas systems. It also includes testing for leaks, maintaining plumbing systems, managing supplies in the service vehicle, keeping tools and equipment operational, and maintaining safety equipment. The role requires physical work in varied indoor and outdoor environments, including attics and crawlspaces, and regular exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather. Requirements

Journeyman Plumber license or above.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
Expertise installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
Experience using tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and supervisors.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods.
In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Proven record of excellent customer service, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software for tracking tasks and reporting job progress.
Ability to lead apprentices, work well within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to climb ladders, access attics, navigate tight spaces and crawlspaces, drive, push, carry, pull, use hand tools, and perform fine detail work.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone; handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; and regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments and tolerate regular exposure to extreme heat or cold and adverse weather, including wind, rain, ice, or snow.

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
Determine whether customer repairs or replacements are needed.
Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
Install, maintain, and repair water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety.
Repair and maintain plumbing systems, including replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
Manage plumbing supplies in the vehicle by checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer instructions and established procedures.
Maintain safety equipment.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
