About The Position

Provide security detail as outlined in post orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Security personnel must remain aware of their surroundings, observe activity in their assigned areas, maintain a professional image, and demonstrate excellent customer service. The position’s duties may vary based on department size, organizational structure, geographic location, and post assignments. Officers may control entrances and pedestrian and vehicle traffic; patrol buildings and perimeters; escort people and materials; inspect security and fire exposures; and perform special assignments. The role may involve patrolling property or maintaining a fixed post, monitoring cameras or other equipment, responding to alarms and emergencies, and completing reports. Reasonable accommodations may be made for certain ADA requirements. Andy Frain Services will apply for and pay for the Security Guard Card.

Requirements

Pass a background check.
Be honest, alert, well-disciplined, and vigilant.

Responsibilities

Report to the assigned post on time and in full uniform.
Greet customers, visitors, and employees politely and maintain a professional image.
Stay informed about revisions to post orders and information distributed by the customer and AFS.
Patrol property or maintain a fixed post; report suspicious activity and investigate accidents and criminal acts.
Monitor cameras or other equipment continuously as required by post orders.
Maintain working knowledge of emergency policies, procedures, and regulations and respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies.
Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports, and other job-related reports.
Recommend improvements to safety and loss-prevention processes based on daily work.
Know and use relevant life-safety systems, fire panels, CCTV computer systems, and other equipment; ensure the safe, continuous operation of elevators and access doors; and know the authorized contractors responsible for equipment maintenance.
Meet training and compliance guidelines established by AFS and other agencies regulating the customer or market.
Communicate new security issues or changes to the Security Supervisor daily.
