Requirements

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
  • Possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and support subordinate psychological staff while overseeing evaluations, counseling, and crisis intervention
  • Guide the creation and improvement of psychological services programs and related policies
  • Lead facility committees that address mental health needs, reviews, and treatment planning
  • Evaluate interpretations of psychological testing and ensure accurate diagnostic reporting
  • Advise staff on mental health concerns and participate in treatment planning across units
  • Ensure psychological services meet required standards and prepare documentation for reviews
