About The Position

The Department of Corrections is seeking a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections to provide psychological services at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Frackville. In this position, you will guide clinical staff, support treatment planning, and enhance the quality of inmate care across the institution. This position leads psychological services that support both treatment goals and the overall safety of the institution. The role involves supervising clinical staff, guiding mental health programs, and ensuring high standards of care.

Requirements

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
  • Possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee psychological staff in screening, evaluation, counseling, and crisis intervention
  • Develop and guide psychological services programs and integrate new policies and procedures
  • Serve on key review teams and provide leadership for mental health evaluations and decisions
  • Evaluate diagnostic reports and ensure accuracy and quality of psychological testing
  • Advise staff on treatment planning and support specialized mental health units
  • Provide expert testimony and ensure compliance with accreditation standards
