Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections - SCI Somerset
About The Position
This position focuses on directing psychological services that support inmate well-being, program development, and staff performance at SCI Somerset. You oversee activities that strengthen treatment planning, crisis intervention, and professional standards. As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections, you will perform the following duties: Staff Leadership: Supervise psychological staff, provide guidance, and support consistent delivery of mental health services. Program Oversight: Manage psychological services programs, develop procedures, and support integration of new practices. Committee Direction: Lead major institutional committees that focus on reception, crisis response, and mental health review. Clinical Standards: Establish staff competencies, review psychological testing, and ensure accuracy in diagnostic reports. Consultation Support: Serve as a consultant for specialized units, advise staff on treatment matters, and guide case management decisions. Accreditation Compliance: Maintain standards required for accreditation and provide expert testimony when needed.
Requirements
- One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
- Possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board.
- Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
