About The Position

As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections with the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Greene, you will play a key role in overseeing meaningful mental health initiatives. This position lets you build and strengthen programs that help inmates manage challenges and work toward personal improvement. Your leadership will support a team committed to providing high-quality psychological care. This position manages and directs psychological services programs that support inmates at SCI Greene. The role ensures effective evaluation, treatment, and program development across multiple mental health areas.

Requirements

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
  • Possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board.
  • Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide psychological staff in screenings, evaluations, counseling, and crisis interventions
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and counseling programs that address inmate adjustment and daily living needs
  • Lead clinical and review committees that evaluate inmate needs, treatment planning, and mental health responses
  • Set competencies and standards for psychological measures and ensure accuracy, reliability, and proper documentation
  • Examine and prepare diagnostic and evaluation reports that support inmate case management
  • Provide specialized guidance on behavioral management, special needs programming, and staff training initiatives
