Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections - SCI Pine Grove
About The Position
The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a Licensed Psychologist Manager who is eager to bring strong leadership, clear focus, and meaningful purpose to psychological services. Requirements
- One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
- One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
- Possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Direct psychological staff, oversee evaluations, guide counseling activities, and support crisis intervention
- Assist in creating and integrating policies, develop counseling programs, and participate in research efforts
- Lead key institutional committees that oversee reception, suicide review, psychiatric care, and critical incident support
- Establish competencies and privileges, review psychological measures, and prepare diagnostic and progress reports
- Advise behavioral management and special needs programs, collaborate with treatment teams, and support staff discussions
- Provide expert testimony, ensure accreditation standards are met, and complete related administrative tasks
