The Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a motivated Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections who is ready to take on a leadership role in expanding and guiding psychological services. This position manages the psychological services program for the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill and supports clinical, administrative, and evaluation activities. The work involves supervising staff, directing treatment planning, and guiding program decisions.

Requirements

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
  • Possess a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead psychological staff, oversee evaluations, administer diagnostic tools, and direct counseling, psychotherapeutic, and crisis intervention procedures
  • Guide program planning, integrate new policies, manage counseling programs, and participate in research projects
  • Chair the Initial Reception Committee, Suicide Clinical Review Team, Psychiatric Review Team, Mental Health Services Review Committee, and the Critical Incident Stress Management Team
  • Set clinical competencies, determine testing reliability and validity, and provide updates for medical stability ratings
  • Evaluate test interpretations, prepare diagnostic and progress reports, and manage behavior and mental health case planning
  • Advise specialized units, train staff, collaborate with classification and unit staff, and review inmate adjustment and treatment plans
  • Provide expert testimony in legal matters and ensure compliance with accreditation standards for psychological services
