About The Position

As a Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections with the Department of Corrections, you will guide important mental health services that help people grow and improve. This position oversees psychological services at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Greene and ensures that inmates receive essential mental health care.

Requirements

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
  • Possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide the work of psychological services employees
  • Manage the development and direction of psychological programs within the facility
  • Lead key committees that review treatment plans and mental health decisions
  • Set clinical standards and monitor the effectiveness of psychological testing measures
  • Evaluate diagnostic and progress reports to support accurate treatment planning
  • Provide guidance to staff and units regarding mental health treatment needs
