About The Position
AvaMed Workforce is hiring a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) for a contract assignment at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, California. The role provides medical care in a correctional setting and is scheduled for day shifts, Sunday through Thursday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a 30-minute meal period. The assignment runs from November 30, 2026, through March 28, 2027, and includes two weeks of orientation. Pay details are available by contacting the employer.
Requirements
- Active California Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license through BVNPT.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Background check and facility security clearance.
- TB test, immunizations, and facility health clearances.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing and psychiatric care to incarcerated patients.
- Give medications and treatments and document care accurately.
- Follow all safety, security, and contraband procedures.
