About The Position
MHM Services of California, a Centurion company, is seeking a full-time Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join their team at Atascadero State Hospital in Atascadero, California. This role involves providing behavioral and psychiatric nursing care and facilitating the rehabilitation of forensic clients, patients, or inmates. Responsibilities include observing and intervening in behaviors that could lead to harm or escape, escorting individuals, performing searches, and inspecting mail and facilities for contraband and safety breaches.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and First Aid methods.
- Ability to pass a drug test and background investigation required.
Responsibilities
- Observing and intervening on any behavior that may injure people, damage property, or signal impending escape attempts.
- Escorting individuals into the facility.
- Performing searches.
- Inspecting mail for any contraband.
- Inspecting facilities for any potential safety breaches.
