We have an urgent need for a LPN/LVN at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Anchorage, AK. This role involves initiating, performing, and completing assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations. The nurse will complete assigned patient care based on patients’ conditions, use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report, and record relevant patient information. The position also requires observing, identifying, and responding to patient needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education. Preparing and administering prescribed medications and performing treatments according to established policies/procedures are key responsibilities. The nurse will also recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance from the RN and/or MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed. Support duties for complex diagnostic tests and specialized practices/procedures are also part of the role, including preparing the patient, assisting in examinations, handling specialized instruments, and monitoring the patient’s condition. Additionally, the LPN/LVN will orient peers and ancillary personnel, integrate healthy work environment principles, and perform clinical duties as assigned by clinic leadership. Starting IVs, maintaining, assessing, and discontinuing them are also required. Scheduling and checking in patients as needed is also a duty.
