About The Position
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support outpatient clinical services at Tricare Prime Clinic Chesapeake. In this mission-essential role, you will provide high-quality care to military members and their families in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment. The clinic operates Monday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with varied shifts of 8-12 hours, including weekends and federal holidays. A 30-minute unpaid meal break is provided for shifts over 6 hours. This is a fully onsite role with no telework.
Requirements
- Graduate of a State Board-approved LPN/LVN program or equivalent military training
- Minimum 1 year of LPN experience in outpatient, ambulatory, or acute care within the last 2 years
- Current, active, and unrestricted LPN/LVN license (any U.S. state or territory)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Nice To Haves
- Experience with electronic medical record systems (AHLTA/CHCS)
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an outpatient clinic setting
- Perform patient intake, triage, and vital sign collection
- Administer medications, immunizations, and IV therapies
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, and diagnostic testing
- Monitor and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Educate patients and families on care plans and follow-up instructions
- Support clinic workflow, patient flow, and care coordination
