Licensed Practical Nurse- PRN
About The Position
Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients in accordance with established standards and practices. The role includes screening walk-in patients and conducting telephone screening using protocols; providing medication and injection education; assisting with procedures; cleaning wounds and changing dressings; suctioning; catheter insertion; tracheostomy care; biopsies; diabetic nail care; and other duties assigned by the clinic. The nurse works both collaboratively and autonomously, maintains excellent customer service and a professional demeanor, and delegates tasks to unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) according to demonstrated competencies and scope of practice. May cover Medical Assistant duties as needed.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Applicable experience: less than 1 year.
Responsibilities
- Screen walk-in patients and conduct telephone screening using protocols.
- Provide medication and injection education.
- Assist with procedures.
- Clean wounds and perform dressing changes.
- Perform suctioning and catheter insertion.
- Provide tracheostomy care.
- Assist with biopsies and diabetic nail care.
- Perform other duties assigned by the clinic.
- Work collaboratively in a team and autonomously as needed.
- Maintain excellent customer service and a professional demeanor.
- Delegate tasks to UAP in accordance with demonstrated competencies and scope of practice.
- Cover Medical Assistant duties as needed.
