About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for PRN work in an institutional setting. The role provides nursing care and treatment to inmates/residents while meeting the job’s required pace and performance standards. Duties include supporting physician sick calls, administering and documenting medication, managing medical supplies, and maintaining the security and confidentiality of medical records.

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing and hold a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Must be licensed in the state of employment.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
• Attend sick call with the physician; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined and prepare the examining room and equipment.
• Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and procedures.
• Control and inventory medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment according to established procedures.
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of all medical records.
