About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the NRMC Walk-In Clinic is responsible for performing duties within their scope of practice. This role assists clinic Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Registered Nurses in patient care within a family practice setting. The LPN may directly supervise unlicensed Nursing and Medical Assistants and might be the sole nursing staff member in the clinic. Responsibilities include administrative tasks related to patient medical record maintenance and ensuring continuity of care, typical of a family practice clinic. Additional tasks as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Current LPN licensure in the State of Louisiana.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Minimum of six months to one year's work experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties consistent with the recognized scope of practice for the profession.
• Assists clinic Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses in the care of patients in a family practice care environment.
• May provide direct supervision of patient care given by unlicensed Nursing and Medical Assistants.
• May be the only nursing staff member of the clinic.
• Performs additional administrative tasks related to patient medical record maintenance and continuity of care typical of a family practice clinic.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
