About The Position

The provider will provide competent, evidence-based medical care by interviewing, examining and treating patients in the fast-paced walk-in clinic. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic illnesses and injuries for walk-in patients aged 6 months and above. The provider will also order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, document patient encounters in the electronic medical record, collaborate with nursing staff and other providers, and educate patients on their conditions and treatment plans. The role requires seeing up to 4-6 patients per hour and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program with an active license to practice in the state.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong skills in communicating effectively with co-workers, providers, and patients.
  • Ability to conduct daily functions in an appropriate, professional, and compassionate manner.
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Teamwork attitude
  • Flexibility to respond to changing demands.
  • Ability to react calmly and competently in stressful situations.
  • Effectively utilize computer systems and programs that are necessary to complete daily tasks.
  • Utilization of Electronic Medical Record
  • Awarded an appropriate Advanced Practice Degree from an accredited school with licensure to practice in the state of Tennessee

Nice To Haves

  • 2 shifts per month must be available, 1 being a weekend shift.
  • You must work one holiday per year.
  • MUST WORK FRIDAY/SATURDAY/SUNDAY
  • WILL ONLY WORK HOLIDAYS THAT FALL ON THOSE SHIFTS

Responsibilities

  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work.
  • Prescribe medications and other treatments as appropriate.
  • Document detailed patient encounters in electronic medical records in a timely manner.
  • Effectively collaborate with nursing staff and other providers to deliver quality care.
  • Educate patients on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques.
  • See up to 4-6 patients per hour.
  • Other duties as assigned
