About The Position

Atrium Health is seeking Advanced Practice Providers to join their Hepatology team at Atrium Health Liver Care – Huntersville, NC. This role is for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join an established practice, preferably with a background in GI, hepatology/transplant, or internal medicine. The position offers a supportive leadership team and a team-oriented environment. The role involves full-time outpatient care for patients with chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and those being evaluated for liver transplant through their transplant program. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am – 4:30 pm, with no nights or weekends and no required procedures. It includes 35 patient-facing hours and a half-day for administrative tasks. Requirements

  • For Nurse Practitioners: Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required
  • For Nurse Practitioners: License to practice as a Registered Nurse required
  • For Nurse Practitioners: Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required
  • For Physician Assistants: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required
  • Demonstrate appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions

Nice To Haves

  • Background in GI, hepatology/transplant or internal medicine
  • At least 1-2 years of gastroenterology, hepatology/transplant or internal medicine experience
  • Acute Care board certification (for Nurse Practitioners based upon population and acuity served)
  • Master’s Degree (for Physician Assistants)
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (for Physician Assistants)

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient care for patients with chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and patients being evaluated for liver transplant through our transplant program
  • Dedicate 35 patient facing hours per week
  • Allocate 1/2-day for administrative time
