This position prepares and rooms patients for examination by obtaining vital signs and documenting pertinent health information. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs laboratory procedures, assists physicians/providers with procedures and surgeries, and administers medications under physician/provider orders. The role also involves initiating and maintaining IV therapy, providing basic patient education, and following through with necessary procedure or test requests. The LPN communicates with physicians and the healthcare team, documenting accurate patient information. Advanced clinical tasks such as suture removal, catheterization, and complex wound care may be performed under supervision. The LPN is responsible for organizing and preparing exam rooms, stocking supplies, and maintaining equipment. This role also involves patient positioning and transporting duties, routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment, and participation in patient-centered initiatives and quality improvement activities. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding growth and development principles.
