The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) prepares and rooms patients for examination by obtaining vital signs and documenting pertinent health information. They perform laboratory procedures, assist physicians with procedures and surgeries, and administer medications and IV therapy under physician orders. The LPN provides basic patient education, follows through with necessary requests, and communicates effectively with physicians and the healthcare team. They also perform advanced clinical tasks, maintain exam rooms and equipment, and participate in quality improvement activities. This role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
