About The Position
CoreCivic is seeking a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse to provide care and treatment to inmates/residents in an institutional setting. The role requires nursing performance consistent with the position’s job requirements, along with adherence to applicable policies and procedures and strict security and confidentiality of medical records.
Requirements
- Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Hold a license in the state of employment.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
Responsibilities
- Apply appropriate nursing skills in the care and treatment of inmates/residents.
- Attend sick call with the physician; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined and prepare the examining room and equipment.
- Operate pill call, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and procedures.
- Control and inventory medication, syringes, and other medical supplies or equipment according to established procedures.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all medical records.
